Bam Adebayo Leads with 28 Points as Short-handed Miami Heat Clinch Fourth Consecutive Win, Defeating Sacramento Kings 121-110.
On Monday night, the Miami Heat, despite missing key players due to injuries and suspensions, secured their fourth consecutive victory by defeating the Sacramento Kings 121-110.
Bam Adebayo led the Heat with 28 points, while Jaime Jaquez Jr. contributed 26 points. Kevin Love made a significant impact off the bench with 19 points, and Caleb Martin added 16 points.
Sacramento’s Domantas Sabonis recorded his NBA-leading 21st triple-double of the season with 14 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists. He also extended his streak of consecutive double-doubles to 40 games, becoming the tenth player in history to achieve this feat in a single season.
Despite a strong performance from Keegan Murray (28 points) and De’Aaron Fox (27 points), the Kings couldn’t capitalize on their previous win against the Los Angeles Clippers and saw their three-game winning streak come to an end.
Miami fielded a depleted lineup, with several key players out due to injuries or suspensions, resulting in their 30th different starting lineup of the season. Despite this, they received significant contributions from lesser-known players such as Delon Wright (13 points) and Haywood Highsmith (15 points), who scored all his points in the first half.
The Heat managed to withstand a comeback attempt by the Kings, thanks to a strong finish in the third quarter, where they outscored Sacramento 17-2 to take a commanding lead.
Although the Kings managed to cut the deficit to six points midway through the fourth quarter, Miami held on for the win with clutch baskets from Jaquez.
Next up, the Heat will face the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday, while the Kings will visit the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday.
