In a recent episode of Shark Tank India Season 3, a retired army officer Major Anil Kumar Malik pitches his military tactical gear brand, Spec-Ops, to the sharks.
Initially seeking Rs 80 lakh for 2% equity, he aimed to expand his B2B business to B2C, later the officer negotiated aggressively, eventually securing a 10x valuation. While discussing his sales and aspirations, the Sharks were impressed with his integrity and military background. However, concerns about market competition and scalability have arisen. Aman Gupta initially offered Rs 2 crore, which the officer found outrageous.

After posting impressive order numbers, Aman revised its offer to Rs 15 crore citing the potential of the brand. Despite initial setbacks, the officer accepted a joint offer from Aman and Amit Jain, ultimately securing a valuation higher than the initial offer but lower than his original expectations. During the negotiations, the officer’s straightforward demeanor left a lasting impression on the Sharks.
