Review of ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ movie:
The movie “Ae Watan Mere Watan” is a biopic film depicting the life of revolutionary Usha Mehta Ji and his efforts in the freedom struggle. Here I will highlight both the positive and negative aspects of the film.
Positive aspects of “Ae Watan Mere Watan” movie:
Positives include a short runtime of 2 hours, which ensures a focused narrative without unnecessary distractions. The production values are commendable with set design, costumes and performances by actors like Prash Srivastava. Emraan Hashmi’s performance in place of Sri Ram Manohar Lohia is unmatched. Moreover, the climax of the last 10 minutes of the film is particularly impressive, creating suspense.

Negative aspects of “Ae Watan Mere Watan” movie:
However, some negatives have also been noted, with the lead actor Sara Ali Khan giving an adequate performance, there is a feeling that another actor could have been better suited for the role. In the movie Sara Ali Khan did everything very easily like installing the transmitter, starting the radio station, which was not easy at all with the technology of that time. It seems to lack the emotional depth expected from a patriotic film and lacks much sense of patriotism. Also, while I’m talking about effects, the story line always has the British oppressing and killing common people while their acting seems like they forgot to bring a sense of patriotism to it.
Controversy Surrounding ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ movie:
The film’s focus on the Congress party may be seen as propaganda by some viewers. Whereas the choice of naming the radio station after the Congress instead of using a historically correct name like “Azad Radio” can be seen as a misstep.

Family Friendly Movie:
Despite its flaws, the film can be recommended for family viewing, especially for viewers interested in patriotic and historical films. Overall, it’s an average movie for me.
