“Hurricanes Dominate: Teravainen Leads Charge in 4-2 Win”

Hurricanes vs Blue jackets Highlight

Teuvo Teravainen wasted no time, scoring the game’s opening goal just 53 seconds into the second period, propelling the Carolina Hurricanes to a 4-2 victory over the struggling Columbus Blue Jackets. Spencer Martin, facing his former team, stood tall with 20 saves, improving his record to 4-0-1 since joining Carolina. Alongside Teravainen, Sebastian Aho, Brady Skjei, and Seth Jarvis found the back of the net for the Hurricanes, extending their recent success with a second win in three days and their sixth win in the last eight games.

Alexander Nylander made an impact for Columbus, notching a goal and an assist, marking his first points with the team. Cole Sillinger also contributed a goal, while Daniil Tarasov made 30 saves for the Blue Jackets, who struggled to find their footing, coming off a previous loss to the New York Rangers.

The Metropolitan Division rivals showcased contrasting trajectories, with the Hurricanes surging towards the top of the division, while the Blue Jackets languished in last place with slim hopes of advancement. Teravainen broke the deadlock early in the second period, seizing a loose puck and slipping it past Tarasov’s legs for his 18th goal of the season.

Skjei widened the gap with a late second-period goal, assisted by Brent Burns, extending Burns’ remarkable streak of consecutive games played.

Nylander reignited Columbus’ hopes with a power-play goal in the third period, but Jarvis sealed the win for Carolina with an empty-net goal in the final seconds.

Looking ahead, the Hurricanes will face off against the Winnipeg Jets at home, while the Blue Jackets travel to take on the Chicago Blackhawks.
