“Nick Gordon Heads to Salary Arbitration with Minnesota Twins: Seeking Pay Raise”

Nick Gordon, outfielder, second baseman, and shortstop for the Minnesota Twins, entered salary arbitration seeking a raise from $735,400 to $1.25 million, while the team countered with $900,000. The arbitration panel consisting of Jasbir Parmer, Scott Buchheit, and Keith Greenberg is expected to deliver a decision on Saturday. Last season, Gordon struggled, hitting .185 with two homers and seven RBIs in 34 games, a decline from his 2022 performance where he hit .272 with nine homers and 50 RBIs across 136 games. His season was marred by a fractured right shin sustained when fouling off a pitch from the Dodgers’ Dylan Covey on May 17. Gordon returned to action on Sept. 15 after a lengthy recovery, starting a six-game rehab stint with Triple-A St. Paul. Throughout his three seasons with the Twins, Gordon holds a .250 batting average with 15 homers and 80 RBIs.In salary arbitration, players currently lead teams 7-2, with the last six cases set for hearings next week. Meanwhile, second baseman Jonathan India and the Cincinnati Reds reached an agreement on a $8.8 million, two-year contract, sidestepping an arbitration hearing. India, the 2021 NL Rookie of the Year, secures his future with the Reds through the deal.
