Tyson Foerster’s Brace Powers Philadelphia Flyers Past Ottawa Senators in 4-2 Win
Tyson Foerster netted two goals within 45 seconds, securing a 4-2 victory for the Philadelphia Flyers against the Ottawa Senators. Foerster’s first goal, breaking a 1-1 tie, came with just 47 seconds left in the second period, as he capitalized on a bouncing puck off a faceoff, beating Ottawa goalie Mads Sogaard with a fluttering shot. He followed up with another goal, marking the Flyers’ fifth penalty shot goal of the season, just two seconds before the period ended. With 16 goals, Foerster is having an impressive rookie season, ranking among the top scorers alongside Chicago’s Connor Bedard and Minnesota’s Marco Rossi.
Vladimir Tarasenko and Thomas Chabot found the net for Ottawa, but it wasn’t enough to break their four-game losing streak. Felix Sandstrom, making his season debut as the Flyers’ backup goalie, delivered a stellar performance with 24 saves, including crucial stops while the Flyers were short-handed. Sandstrom’s standout moment came with a sprawling glove save on Chabot in the final minute, denying the Senators a chance to equalize.

Cam York sealed the victory with an empty-net goal in the closing seconds. Despite their struggles against the Senators earlier in the season, the Flyers emerged victorious, ending their losing streak against Ottawa.
Looking ahead, the Senators will face the Ducks next, while the Flyers will host the Blues in their upcoming games.
